該協(xié)會(huì)采用上述兩種名稱(chēng)。它為昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)家提供了一個(gè)論壇，歡迎所有對(duì)昆蟲(chóng)或其他陸生節(jié)肢動(dòng)物、它們的生態(tài)學(xué)、行為學(xué)、系統(tǒng)學(xué)、生理學(xué)、控制、保護(hù)等感興趣的人士加入。該學(xué)會(huì)成立于1928年，并出版了季刊《堪薩斯昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)會(huì)雜志》(Journal of The Kansas昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)會(huì))，其中收錄了當(dāng)?shù)刈髡咭约皝?lái)自世界許多其他地方的人的論文。該協(xié)會(huì)每年在堪薩斯或附近的州舉行年會(huì)，會(huì)上學(xué)生和知名昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)家會(huì)展示他們的研究成果或?qū)Ω信d趣的話(huà)題的評(píng)論。沒(méi)有并發(fā)會(huì)話(huà)!這樣就促進(jìn)了個(gè)體之間以及他們不同學(xué)科之間的互動(dòng)。

The Society goes by both of the above names.It provides a forum for entomologists and welcomes as members all persons interested in insects or other terrestrial arthropods, their ecology, behavior, systematics, physiology, control, conservation, etc. The Society was established in 1928, and produces a quarterly publication, the Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society that contains papers by local authors as well as by persons from many other parts of the world.The Society holds annual meetings in Kansas or nearby states, at which students as well as established entomologists present results of their research or reviews of topics of interest. There are no concurrent sessions! Thus interactions among individuals and their diverse disciplines are fostered.
